Pay rate:  Annual Salary, based on skills and experience.

Summary:

The Entrepreneurship Program Manager oversees all aspects of the year-long JA Fellows Program. In this nationally award-winning program, students gain real-world business experience by working in groups of 20-25, conceptualizing, capitalizing, and managing their own small businesses. Throughout this real-life entrepreneurship experience, students develop communication, financial management, problem-solving, collaboration and time management skills, just to name a few. Volunteer mentors work in teams of 4-6, coaching students through the process of starting and running a small business. “Spark Tank” competitions (Shark Tank-like events) are judged by local business leaders. At the end of each school year companies participate in a local competition for award, and a chance to compete in a national competition.

The Program Manager retains and recruits 20 schools to host student companies, serving 500 high school students each year. They also recruit and train mentors and teachers, providing year-round support and ensuring all aspects of the program are correctly implemented. The Program Manager reports to the Workforce Program Director and works closely with other Workforce program members as well as many external community members. The Entrepreneurship Program Manager will continue Junior Achievement’s long tradition of the leader in impactful entrepreneurial education.

What you will do:

• In accordance with the strategic plan the Entrepreneurship Program Manager will manage and grow the JA Fellows Program throughout Broward and south Palm Beach Counties.
• Develop and maintain external relationships, including with educators, leaders in the entrepreneurial industry, sponsors, etc.
• Assure program quality through teacher and volunteer communication, including classroom monitoring and providing high quality service and support.
• Conduct ongoing program evaluations.
• Provide feedback, program materials, and resources to volunteers and teachers.
• Organize and implement volunteer, teacher, and staff trainings.
• Identify and cultivate new entrepreneurial connections, guest speakers and mentors.
• Organize and implement the four JA Fellows events with the JA event teams: JA Fellows Student Retreat, Spark Tank week (student companies initial pitch to “Sharks”), student Boot Camp, and the JA Fellows Program local competition, JA Spark Tank Finale.
• Enter all students, classes, teachers, and volunteers in data base.
• Create and manage program budget.
• Participate in the JA USA Advisory Committee for Fellows.
• Ensure students from varying socioeconomic backgrounds are afforded equal opportunity to participate in the program.
• Maintain strong understanding of updates to program implementation.
• Collaborate with other JA high school initiatives, including recruiting students for Summer Youth Employment opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

• Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, AS degree or equivalent education with experience accepted.
• This position requires a valid FL State driver’s license, insurance, and use of an employee vehicle.
• Proficient communications skills, both written and verbal, listening skills and dynamic presentation, facilitation, and teaching skills.
• Strong ability to manage, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks and projects.
• Exceptional diligence, demonstrate complete follow-through in the
  execution of the program development strategy. 
• Demonstrated discipline in personal time management, accountability and responsibility for personal performance and the performance of the JA Pre-Apprenticeship team.
• Proven ability to work with diverse populations.
• Manage sensitive student information confidentially and maintain electronic files.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Entrepreneurial vision that quickly recognizes an opportunity, with a sense of urgency and
  timing in building relationships and programs that advance the mission and vision of JA. 
• Innovative vision that recognizes how to develop and coordinate programs for continuous improvement.
• Experience working with work readiness programs for high school studentsis preferred.
• Knowledge of education community and organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and the Internet.
• Project management experience.
• Experience in reporting and tracking data.
• Ability to lift 25 – 50lbs, vision to include close and distance, ability to adjust focus, sit or stand for extended periods of time.
